Hi!
Welcome to my new website!
My name is Omid Jahromi. I am the Principal
Engineer at Authorizer Technologies, a biometric startup company, in Palm
Beach Gardens, Florida. I have extensive academic and industrial research
experience in the fields of digital signal processing, image processing,
sensor networks and biometric identity verification. I received my
Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the
University of
Toronto in 2002. I have taught several engineering courses at the departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto.
Since 2004, I have been leading several standardization projects at InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) and the International Organization for Standards (ISO) focusing on the standardization of biometric data interchange formats.
I have written an independent book titled Multirate Statistical Signal Processing and a chapter on distributed signal processing in the Embedded Systems Handbook. In addition, I have written or edited numerous scientific papers, technical standards and patents in the fields of digital signal processing and fingerprint recognition.
I am very interested in shooting sports, hunting and photography.
I have created this website to communicate with those who share my interests in science, engineering, hunting and photography. I hope you enjoy it!
I am always open to new career opportunities where I can apply my extraordinary intellectual capabilities, communication skills and real-world engineering competence more fully. Please feel free to contact me if you have any comments.
Sincerely,
Dr. Omid Jahromi
